2008 | Ángeles de la guarda

In the suburbs of Buenos Aires you can find in the corner little houses. This are the houses of private organized street guardians. A sort of bodyguard for the street where you live:The neighbors engage retired old men, illegal immigrants or retired policemen to take care of one street (100 meters) including the corners. This men have no weapons and is very easy to disable them for thieves: They only can call the police, put in guard other neighbords or with their solely presence keep pickpockets far from the habitants. However, I always use to feel much safer when I came home late. César, the Peruvian street keeper of my ancient home was allways there. Sometime 24 hours in a row. The habitants of the middleclass, upperclass neighborhoods where they use to stay maintain with their "guardian engels" a similar relationship as to their maids.
