Soft sculpture, textile, memorabilia, photographs, insects and dried flowers
was born from the intimate experience sleeping in the bed of my paternal grandmother, a survivor of the Armenian genocide. This profound bond—shaped by her virtues and flaws, her strength and her
scars—left an indelible mark on me.
The installation brings together textile sculptures, historical photographs, and natural elements such as linden flowers and insects. These evoke the garden of my childhood and my connection to
her: the flowers she dried for tea, the rose jam she lovingly prepared, and our shared reverence for the natural world.
By weaving together memorabilia, organic materials, and symbols of the domestic realm, the work reflects on the enduring impact of intimate bonds—whether expressed through delicate gestures or through their powerful influence on our identity and creative drive.
